The NOMAD SL is made with high-quality technical fabrics designed for abrasion resistance. It handles rocks, branches, and rugged use very well. With normal care, it is built to last many seasons of wilderness adventures.
In our packrafts, we use high-tenacity (HT) nylon with a TPU coating applied only on the inside, instead of traditional double-sided PVC-coated fabric. This solution delivers measurable real-world performance advantages in demanding terrain. HT nylon has a smooth surface — it tends to slide over obstacles.
Seams are welded using a high-frequency welding technology.
The NOMAD SL has a recommended load capacity of up to 150 kg, making it suitable for one adult plus gear.
NOMAD SL is significantly lighter (only 1.39 kg) and much more compact than the MRS Nomad and most Alpacka models. It offers an excellent balance of low weight, packability, and durability — ideal for hikers who want to carry as little extra weight as possible while still having a capable packraft.
With a Flextail pump, it inflates in about 2 minutes—reaching enough pressure to start paddling. For extra firmness, you can top it off with 3–5 breaths by mouth.
Yes, of course. Using the same Flextail pump, you can fully deflate it, and then roll it back down to the same size it had when it was originally packed at the factory.
